Pass the Senate terrorist surveillance bill

Mon Feb 25, 2008 at 06:14:16 PM PDT

Here in South Florida, I started seeing ads on TV telling the public to call their congressman to urge them to pass the Senate version of the surveillance bill.  They named, Ron Klein, my congressman by name.
This isn't a long diary.  But I'd like some thoughts on how to combat this.

I called Klein's office this morning.  And I told the staff person that I supported the house version and I was against immunity for the telecoms.

The ad has been running all day.  It states that terrorist surveillance has ceased and that the country is more at risk.  We all know that this is false.

It looks like they tweaked it a bit a few minutes ago. The issue I see is that there is no counter to this.  The public is now being bombarded with one side of the story.  Nowhere do they mention that the only fundamental difference is the immunity issue.  And it's something of a complicated issue to explain to someone who isn't ready to understand all the pieces of the puzzle.

Something needs to counter this.

I am open to ideas.

The sky will open.  The light will come down.  Celestial choirs will be singing.
