Will someone please tell the Clinton supporters it's about votes

Sat May 17, 2008 at 04:30:07 PM PDT

For a while now, I've been hearing from the Clinton supporters that she's the most qualified.  I'm talking about supporters from all levels, radio show callers and congress people.  I've heard this from Debbie Wasserman-Shultz.  Now I don't necessarily agree.  I think Obama has the potential to be a spectacular president.  But even if we grant them that she is the most qualified, ready on day one, crossed the threshold, super president ready to happen, none of that matters.

It takes votes to win an election.  I'll admit that the "votes" in the case of the democratic primary are a bit weird.  It's all about pledged delegates  and super delegates and all that oddball way of doing things.  But it's still about votes.  And they can say all they want about how qualified she is, none of it matters.  If the voters had voted for Paris Hilton then she should be the nominee.

So I would like to ask a favor.  If someone presents that old "she's more qualified" argument and you are in the room, Please politely tell the person to stop.  Because it's pointless.

This thing is over.

Time to move on to the general election and get ready for some swiftboating.  And I believe it is coming big time.  It will make what they did to Kerry look like child's play.
