Did Clinton lose because she is a woman?

Sun May 25, 2008 at 07:46:10 AM PDT

It's time to put on your thinking caps.  Or better yet, our opinion caps.  I'm watching Meet the Press.  And of course, the topic of the discussion is Hillary Clinton.  How I wish they would just ignore her.  I wish everyone would just ignore her.  But they went down the gender discrimination route and I got to thinking.  Do I have an issue with her because she is a woman?  Is this what really did in her campaign?

It took me less than a second to determine that I don't care about her gender or that of any candidate.  I would probably vote for her if it weren't for Obama.  Edwards warrants serious consideration.  But I think he has shown that he just does not have the traction needed to pull it off.

Back to my question.  Did she lose[1] this nomination battle because she is a woman?  If it wasn't the main issue, was it at least part of the issue?

I have two questions for you.  If you do not support Hillary Clinton, does her gender factor into your decision?  Do you think her gender had anything to do with her losing the contest.

[1]  For those who say she hasn't lost yet know this.  She has lost.  Make no bones about it. Her chances of winning the nomination at this point is zero.
